AISF Barauni Unit is one of the most oldest unit in Bihar.
 Mass Leader Comrade Chandrashekhar Singh played very important role in establishing AISF throughput the Bihar.

He was native of Bihat village under Barauni Circle of Begusarai district.  In 1938 at the age of 23 years he became first General Secretary of AISF Bihar State Unit.

Later he was elected as Member of Legislative Assembly in the year of 1956 from Northern Begusarai Vidhan Sabha Constituency now known as Begusarai Vidhan Sabha Constituency. He was  first Communist Member of Legislative Assembly in whole Hindi Speaking belt of India because before 1951 ruling Government of India  forced ban on Communist Parties active in India, after 1951 ban was lifted and Communists were allowed to contest in general elections.
He even became Minister of Power and Irrigation for Government of Bihar  in the year 1962 and this government was first non congress government of Bihar.

Then, in the year of 1967 he became Agriculture Minister for Government of Bihar. 

He was the most active and liked leader of his time.
